Top Performing Directories

Every once in awhile we like to post stats on the top performing flyers on ClassifiedFlyerAds.com.  Following are flyer view stats for a selective group of our top performing flyers.  We like to post this information to give sellers an idea of the online directories that will bring your listings traffic.

These counts do not include all the directories we syndicate to because some of the directories do not permit view tracking or open tracking.  These are counts for how many times visitors clicked through to the top performing flyers from these sources.

Source View Count
Search Engine Search 54311

Search engine searches by far outweighs everything else, which is not too surprising being that over 80% of our flyers rank on page 1 of Google for related search terms.

The top 3 directories at least for our flyers are Backpage, Trulia and Yahoo! Real Estate

Hope this helps you determine where you should be advertising your listings.

Misty: Thank you for the information. It's always good to see the statistics !

I have a question regarding your statistics.  Wouldn't this only show listings that you syndicated that were not already on the directories.  For example, in Trulia, Oodle, Vast, etc., if a broker or another syndication directory had already posted the listing(s) you were collecting statistics on then you would not show any statistics.  It does not mean the listings are not getting the exposure, it just means the exposure did not come from your services.  Is this not the case?  So, of course the Search Engines would be at the top, as there are no criteria for duplicates being removed.

The offer for help is appreciated, but I feel you should preface it with what the numbers really represent.  Otherwise we get a view which is not quite accurate.

Hello John - I believe the first sentence in my post "Every once in awhile we like to post stats on the top performing flyers on ClassifiedFlyerAds.com" represented that these stats are only for listing flyers created through ClassifiedFlyerAds.com but I apologize if that was unclear.

These stats are only for a selective group of top performing flyers (not all flyers) created through ClassifiedFlyerAds.com that were syndicated to these directories.  We do not collect stats on what other providers syndicate to these directories so yes outside of ClassifiedFlyerAds.com these stats do not represent the bigger picture.

I hope that clarifies things.

I'm surprised craigslist isn't on that list -but they probably don't give you any stats.  Also, how exactly are you syndicating to ebay?

vERY GOOD INFORMATION AND IT MAKES ME WONDER WHERE ALL OF MY LEADS ARE COMING FROM ON THE INTERNET!tHANKS

Hello Bo - correct, Craigslist does not allow tracking.  It is against their terms.  We provide ebay friendly posting HTML that allows members to easily post their flyers to ebay.

Hi Tim - if you do not have any type of stat software, I suggest using Google Analytics.  It is free and you can insert the code into your web pages.

Misty, great list of directories. I had no idea there were so many. ;-) I kinda sorta thought the search engine would be the biggie. I definitely like the google analytics, plus 1&1 - my host - also has stats....;-)

It's interesting to see how dominant the "Search Engine Search" category is (more than double the second place slot). Just more proof of how very important it is to rank well in Google, etc.
